JR Dragster Clutch System

The most frequently asked question is why you should purchase an HRD/Powerbloc clutch system for your racer. Let us explain why HRD/Powerbloc is the obvious choice...
Reliability: We have racers that have been using the HRD/Powerbloc clutch system with the original belt for 2 seasons that have not required any maintenance. Lauren Freer (with Paul Freer maintaining the race car) has run 2 seasons with over 200 passes without any parts failing, using the same belt with no loss of performance. This race car runs the 1/8 mile in 7.52 seconds at 85 mph. It is not necessary to dismantle the drive or driven between passes, or buy a new belt every race day even with big engines. When you see belt dust on your car every pass, the clutch system is either misaligned or slipping, which is an indication the engine is overpowering the clutch. With the same mechanical design of the HRD/Powerbloc, we have run with 125 HP plus jetski engine in a sand drag car with no problems as well as 85 plus horsepower off road cars. The HRD/Powerbloc clutch will handle the horsepower in all Jr Dragster engines being built today.
Performance and Consistency: The HRD/Powerbloc system provides consistent runs within a few 100ths of a second during a full race day and will do so if there are no major weather, track condition, or engine performance changes throughout the day. If you adjust the carburetor, gear changes, etc, between rounds, there will be changes in the ET and mph, sometimes good, sometimes not so good.
Performance: I like to use Lauren and Paul Freer as an example because I know he is not enhancing his fuel to get the right numbers. The car and driver are at 350 lbs. and can run consistantly under 7.90 ET and in the 84/85 mph range, and this isn't with the largest motor out there. There are other track champions out there as well. Just ask someone who is racing with the HRD/Powerbloc clutch.

After reading the manual and any information provided, if you do not completely understand things, we encourage you to call us and speak directly with one of our experts. We would much rather spend all the time needed to get you up to speed, rather than have some good parts get hurt. This is not a complicated clutch, but as with all things mechanical, all parts need to be attended to properly. In fact, one of the largest problems we have is people wanting to complicate an uncomplicated system.
